Leeds United have confirmed Joël Piroe has joined West Ham United on loan for the rest of the 2026/27 season. yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands that the season-long deal carries an obligation to buy if West Ham return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

The Suriname international joined Leeds from Swansea City in August 2023, making his debut in the Championship against Ipswich Town two days later. He scored in that game.

He went on to play a major part as the Whites were crowned champions and returned to the Premier League, collecting the Golden Boot.

Last season he did not start a Premier League match after August and managed one goal in 21 appearances across all competitions. He was third choice up front, with Leeds also seeking further attacking reinforcements in the final fortnight of the window.

West Ham are back in the Championship following relegation last season and are aiming for an immediate return. Leeds have offered Piroe their best wishes for his time at the London Stadium.
