Leeds United face a battle to sign Hibernian midfielder Josh Mulligan, with European rivals moving for the Scottish youth international ahead of January.
FootMercato reports that Lille and Wolfsburg have made enquiries for the former Dundee player, with a winter release clause keeping any fee affordable. It adds that the outcome could hinge on which club makes the most convincing case.
Leeds were among the clubs linked in recent days, though they were understood to be behind Nottingham Forest in the race for the midfielder.
The 49ers are expected to enter the market in January as they look to strengthen Daniel Farke’s squad for the second half of the season. The manager has remained tight-lipped on specific priorities.
Mulligan underlined his form in his latest Hibs outing, creating three chances and supplying an assist in a 3-0 win over Falkirk, earning an 8.5 rating.
