Leeds United ‘make improved offer’ for Shea Charles as £30m race intensifies | OneFootball

Leeds United have increased their offer for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles to £23m plus add-ons, according to the Daily Mail.

The package reportedly includes incentives aimed at persuading the Saints to sell the 22-year-old defensive midfielder, with Crystal Palace also monitoring the situation.

Southampton are said to value Charles at around £30m, and Manchester City are thought to hold a 15 per cent sell-on clause from his time there.

He spent 12 years in City’s youth set-up and made one senior appearance in May 2023, before moving to St Mary’s two months later.

The Northern Ireland international has 35 caps and made 21 starts last season, in a campaign affected by a hamstring injury.

Leeds have already secured Harry Wilson and want extra depth and quality for Daniel Farke’s squad after finishing 14th in the Premier League last season.
