According to Leeds Live, Daniel Farke was non-committal on Gabriel Gudmundsson’s fitness after more than a month out, so James Justin could start at Brighton on Saturday.
The Swede has yet to play this season after a pre-season hamstring injury against Liverpool and was an unused substitute at Brentford. Jayden Bogle will begin on the right flank regardless.
Joe Rodon’s hamstring issue at Brentford is likely to keep him out for eight to 10 weeks, so Nico Elvedi could step in at right centre-back for his first league start.
Jaka Bijol is the pick in the middle of the back three, with Tarik Muharemovic on the left in front of James Trafford. Trafford has clean sheets in both away games so far.
In midfield, captain Ethan Ampadu is likely to partner Anton Stach, the pair viewed as the firm choices for now.
Harry Wilson, dropped at Brentford, could return as the right-side No 10, with Brenden Aaronson operating from the left.
Up front, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will aim to double his season tally after last weekend’s equaliser.
New signing Michael Zetterer is set for the bench for the first time, while calls on left-back Melvin Bard and winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya remain open. Bard has played twice for OGC Nice this season, Bahoya did not feature at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Predicted XI, 3-4-2-1, Trafford in goal, then Elvedi, Bijol and Muharemovic, with Bogle, Ampadu, Stach and Justin, then Wilson and Aaronson behind Calvert-Lewin.
