Leeds United have paid tribute to Josuha Guilavogui, a popular member of their promotion-winning squad, after the France-capped midfielder announced his retirement at 35.
He joined as a free agent in October 2024 to add midfield depth during the push for promotion. He made 18 appearances for Leeds, with 16 of those Championship outings coming as a substitute.
Guilavogui also started FA Cup ties against Harrogate Town and Millwall. He was credited with a strong influence off the pitch and received warm messages from former team-mates when he left at season’s end.
One year on, he confirmed on social media that football might forget him but he would not forget it, and that he was hanging up his boots with gratitude.
The club’s post featured a photograph of him kissing the Championship trophy, wishing him a happy retirement and praising a fantastic career.
