Leeds United, West Ham And Wolves Wanted Star ‘Clinging To His Contract’ As Planned Sale Uncertain | OneFootball

Leeds United, West Ham United and Wolves may not be able to land Real Betis midfielder Nelson Deossa this summer as he is ‘clinging to his contract’ at the Seville club.

Deossa joined Real Betis in August last year from Mexican side Monterrey, signing a four-year contract with the Spanish club.

The Colombian featured in 33 matches across all competitions, amassing 1,491 minutes as Los Verdiblancos secured Champions League qualification.

Real Betis have been expecting that he could depart this summer, with a move to England viewed as the ideal scenario given the cash it would bring into the club’s coffers.

The 26-year-old does have interest from England, where Leeds, West Ham and Wolves are all interested.

And scouts from Leeds, Wolves and West Ham were in attendance when Real Betis took on Arsenal in a friendly on Wednesday.

The Colombian had an outstanding outing in the friendly as he scored a goal and provided an assist, helping the Spanish side beat the Premier League champions 3-1.

There has also been interest from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, but at the moment Deossa has no intention of going anywhere; he rejected a switch to Vasco da Gama recently.

According to Spanish outlet ABC, Deossa is ‘clinging to his contract’ at Real Betis and is determined to stay on at the Spanish side.

It has been suggested that the 26-year-old wants to play a significant role at Real Betis and he has conveyed his decision to the club’s management.

Real Betis understand Deossa’s view and are waiting to see if it changes, especially as there could be approaches from English clubs for his signature.

For now, the midfielder has his heart set on staying put.

In another Spanish link with Leeds, Valencia remain keen on the Whites winger Largie Ramazani and a renewed move for the Belgian ‘would not be surprising’.

Meanwhile, Wolves defender Jackson Tchatchoua has emerged as a target for Serie A pair Torino and Sassuolo.

Elsewhere, West Ham director of player recruitment Nils Koppen has highlighted Joel Veltman’s ‘high standards’ and ‘leadership qualities’ after the veteran defender completed his move to the London Stadium.
