Leeds United’s 3-1 win at Elland Road has intensified scrutiny on Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche. According to talkSPORT, pressure on the manager is building as the relegation fight tightens.
Forest arrived on Friday four unbeaten but that run was halted as Leeds struck through Jayden Bogle, Noh Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, taking control after the opener on 26 minutes. The win moved Leeds three points clear of Forest, who are three above 18th-placed West Ham, 2-0 winners at Burnley.
Elland Road has proved a flashpoint for visiting managers this season, with Manchester United dismissing Ruben Amorim after a 1-1 draw and Arne Slot scrutinised following Mohamed Salah’s mixed zone comments. Oliver Glasner and Nuno Espirito Santo have also been under pressure after defeats.
Forest appointed Dyche in October as their third manager of the campaign, with Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou already axed. Owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to have expected a bigger and quicker upturn from a relegation-battle specialist, but results have not followed.
Despite being unbeaten in four before Leeds, Forest had won only two of their previous eight, a run now two in nine. With Leeds and West Ham improving, Europa League Forest could slide into deeper trouble unless form picks up.
Dyche’s side host Wolves at the City Ground on Wednesday in a key fixture after a busy January window, with a tricky sequence to follow. He lamented soft defending, saying they had warned of a fast start yet conceded poor goals that decided the game.
