Leicester City have brought in attacking midfielder Harry Howell on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion after he agreed a new three-year deal with the Premier League club.

According to BBC UK, the 18-year-old becomes the second Seagulls player to join the Foxes on loan this summer after Tommy Watson.

The England Under-19 international has made four Premier League appearances for Brighton across the past two seasons, and this move is his first away from the American Express Stadium.

Brighton’s sporting director Mike Cave said the stint with Leicester in League One is an opportunity to build after Howell’s exposure to the Seagulls’ first-team environment last term.

He added that the club are very excited by his potential and look forward to his continued progress over the coming year.
