Leicester City have been hit with a fresh injury worry, which Gary Rowett will be worrying about, as Jordan James limped off for Wales recently.

Leicester City are in for a serious battle to retain their Championship status this season, with the Foxes currently occupying a spot in the relegation zone.

They're sat 22nd in the second tier standings, with a six-point deduction proving crucial heading into the final seven matches of this year's campaign.

The days of playing in the Premier League will feel like a distant memory for the club's supporters, who have every reason to be fearing the worst this term.

Leicester simply haven't been anywhere near good enough, with Gary Rowett's side only winning once from their last 13 league matches, which is a hugely disappointing record, especially considering they have a relatively strong and experienced squad on paper.

There hasn't been many positives for Leicester this season, but one player that has caught the eye in his time with the club is Jordan James, who is on loan with Leicester from French side, Rennes.

The midfielder has chipped in with ten goals and four assists for the Foxes in all competitions this season, and Gary Rowett will have been hoping that the former Birmingham City man could play his part in their bid to avoid an almost unthinkable relegation into League One.

Worrying Jordan James update emerges

James recently lined up for Wales' senior squad in their World Cup qualifying play-off match against Bosnia & Herzegovina, but was forced off injured after tackling Amar Mecic. Some of the Leicester fanbase noticed the injury, citing that it could potentially be an Achilles problem for the Foxes loanee.

It remains unclear as to what the actual problem was for James, but Gary Rowett and the Leicester City fanbase will be fearing the worst, which would be a huge blow for the Foxes in the battle to avoid the drop.

Wales were 1-0 ahead at the time of James' departure from the pitch, but went on to concede late, as former Manchester City forward, Edin Džeko, scored.

Bosnia & Herzegovina held their nerve from the penalty shootout as well, as they beat Wales on their own patch, which saw them book a tie with Italy for a place in the World Cup this summer.

Leicester City face an anxious wait on the extent of James' injury concern

With Wales falling short in their efforts to qualify for this year's World Cup, they don't have another game scheduled, which means that James can return to Leicester to find out the extent of his injury worry.

The Foxes will obviously be hoping to have the midfielder ready for action by Friday 3rd April, as they're set to take on Preston North End, in what is another tough test for Rowett's side.

The next four games, in particular, could make or break Leicester's season, as after hosting Preston, they take on Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City, and Portsmouth.

Both Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth in particular are games that Leicester fans will highlight as winnable, especially the trip to Hillsborough, with the Owls only winning once from their 39 league matches so far this season. Portsmouth are also sliding down the second tier standings at an alarming rate, and so that'll be a crucial six-pointer for both teams.

To stand the best chance of gaining maximum points from these games, Rowett will be eager to have James fit and ready to feature, and so it'll be a nervous wait to see how long the 21-year-old is out of action for.
