Joe Aribo will return for Leicester City away to Stoke on Saturday, bolstering midfield options.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the loanee missed the last two matches against parent club Southampton but is eligible this weekend. He started against Birmingham after arriving and could be in line to start, particularly if interim boss Andy King remains in charge.

His availability gives City five midfielders for three spots. Harry Winks, Oliver Skipp and Divine Mukasa began the last league game, with Louis Page replacing Skipp in the FA Cup. Mukasa has impressed in two starts and is likely to keep his place, leaving two of Aribo, Winks and Skipp for the other roles.

No other returns are expected, so City will be without seven players, including Bobby De Cordova-Reid, who serves the final match of his three-match ban.

Six players are injured, with Jamaal Lascelles the latest. He could be out for a couple of weeks, so is set to miss the Bet365 Stadium trip and potentially next week’s games with Middlesbrough and Norwich.

Fellow centre-backs Jannik Vestergaard and Harry Souttar are also sidelined, while Hamza Choudhury, Jordan James and Aaron Ramsey remain out. With numbers thin, Caleb Okoli and Ben Nelson are set to continue as the starting pairing. Bade Aluko is the back-up, and Kevon Gray, yet to make a senior appearance, was on the bench at Southampton.

In attack, Abdul Fatawu is set to be available despite a knee “grumble” that kept him out at St Mary’s.
