Ørjan Nyland is reportedly close to rejoining RB Leipzig, with Peter Gulácsi expected to complete a move to Villarreal.
Sky Germany and Fabrizio Romano report that Leipzig are closing in on an agreement to sign the Norwegian as Gulácsi’s replacement.
The 35-year-old is available on a free transfer after his contract with Sevilla expired earlier this summer. He is expected to provide experienced cover for first-choice goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt.
Gulácsi is set to end his long spell with Die Roten Bullen by joining the La Liga side. Leipzig are expected to receive around €two million, with the remaining formalities due to be completed shortly.
A return would mark Nyland’s second stint at the Red Bull Arena, following the 2022/23 season. He made two Bundesliga appearances then before departing at the end of the campaign.
