Ismaelo Ganiou (21) features in Zinédine Zidane’s provisional France squad, as per a report from L’Équipe. The RC Lens defender had featured for the Burkina Faso senior side (one cap) before then opting to play for France’s U21s side earlier this year. He could now be set for a first call-up for Les Bleus.

Zidane will name his first squad since being appointed manager of the France national team on 18th September. There could be a couple of surprises. It has already been reported by RMC Sport that Stade Rennais’ Esteban Lepaul and Inter Milan’s Andy Diouf are both part of Zidane’s enlarged squad, which must now be whittled down.

Ganiou could be another surprise inclusion. Zidane, of course, will not be able to count on Arsenal’s William Saliba, so key for Les Bleus in recent months. Ganiou could be the man to replace him for the upcoming international break.
