Leonardo Jardim and Flamengo out to protect Libertadores unbeaten run in Quito | OneFootball

Flamengo visit Independiente del Valle in Quito at altitude on Thursday for the first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals, defending an unbeaten 2026 record.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the current champions have six wins and two draws from eight matches so far.

Their campaign opened with a 2-0 win at Cusco in Peru, then a 4-1 defeat of Independiente Medellín at the Maracanã.

They drew 1-1 away to Estudiantes de La Plata, before edging the return 1-0 in Rio. A cancelled fixture in Colombia handed them a W.O. victory over Independiente Medellín, then they closed the group with a 3-0 success against Cusco.

In the knockouts, Flamengo drew 1-1 with Cruzeiro in the first leg and sealed progress with a 2-1 win in the return. The holders remain unbeaten in the 2026 edition.

Kick-off is at 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Olímpico Atahualpa in Quito. The match will stream on Disney+, with no free-to-air broadcast. Flamengo are targeting a fifth Libertadores crown.
