Levante miss out on Akieme after FIFA rejects late registration | OneFootball

Levante will be without Sergio Akieme until January after FIFA rejected a bid to register him late, the paperwork arriving about three minutes after the deadline.

According to Superdeporte, a loan had been agreed, including the wage share, but LaLiga had already closed and the appeal to FIFA was unsuccessful.

Akieme, 28, the Stade de Reims left-back, was set to complete the squad. He is yet to make his league debut in France this season.

He moved from Almería to Reims for six million euros, establishing himself as a regular starter in 24/25 and again last term in Ligue 2.

With the move off for now, Luís Castro will rely on Manu Sánchez and the very young Marc Santos on the left.
