Carlos Espí struck a late brace to beat Deportivo Alavés 2-0, keeping Levante UD alive in LaLiga EA Sports and moving level with Etta Eyong as the team’s top scorer on five across all competitions.

Introduced on 58 minutes, the Tavernes de la Valldigna forward scored in the 88th and 97th minutes. According to Superdeporte, he has become Levante’s specialist when matches drift towards attrition and nerves.

In the league he has three goals in 13 appearances, with one start. He rarely needs a full match to influence it, sometimes a quarter of an hour suffices.

His impact extends to the Copa del Rey, where he has two goals in two games. Last season he changed the tie against Burgos that sealed promotion, entering at 2-1 and setting up Carlos Álvarez.

He debuted late in 2023/24 in Segunda División and his first senior goal also came as a substitute. In 2024/25, in LaLiga Hypermotion, he scored six, several of them decisive in tight encounters.

Standing 194 centimetres and unusually robust for his age, he offers instant impact. Levante have tied him down until 2028, seeing both clear present value and ample room for improvement.
