Missing out on the FIFA World Cup can break even the strongest players, but for Robert Lewandowski, it has sparked a renewed sense of purpose at Barcelona.
According to recent reports from Mundo Deportivo, the Polish striker has outlined a clear and ambitious plan for the remainder of the season, one that could define both his present and future at the club.
After the disappointment of failing to secure a place at the FIFA World Cup, Lewandowski has channelled that frustration into three key objectives – winning La Liga, conquering the UEFA Champions League, and securing a contract renewal with Barcelona.
The setback came after Poland’s painful playoff defeat to Sweden, a result that denied Lewandowski the chance to feature on football’s biggest international stage.
What has followed since then shows his top-level mentality.
Rather than dwelling on the disappointment, Lewandowski returned to Barcelona duty and made an immediate impact.
Just days after rejoining the squad, he stepped up in a crucial moment against Atletico Madrid, where he scored the winning goal in a 1-2 victory that all but secured the La Liga title with several matches still to play.

For what it is worth, that goal was a statement from the 37-year-old. A goal that screams Lewandowski is still operating at his highest.
In recent weeks, the striker had seen his role in the starting XI come under scrutiny, with reduced prominence raising questions about his place in the team.
But instead of fading into the background, Lewandowski has responded strongly.
Before making any final decision regarding his future, with discussions expected towards the end of the month, the forward is prioritising performance on the pitch.
He wants to evaluate Barcelona’s proposal carefully, but he intends to continue at the club.
At the same time, Lewandowski has set himself the personal challenge of leading Barcelona to both La Liga and Champions League glory, ensuring his fourth season at the club ends on a high.
While the contractual situation will be resolved at the end of the month, Barcelona have edged closer to winning the La Liga, especially after Real Madrid lost 1-2 to Mallorca.
