The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) disciplinary committee have shown some leniency to Amine Harit (27) following his red card in Le Classique. The Olympique de Marseille midfielder was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos (30).
However, Harit will only be suspended for one match following the LFP’s meeting on Wednesday the 30th of October, with L’Équipe explaining that the disciplinary committee had considered that while the high tackle had endangered his opposition, the Moroccan international had not been aware of the centre-back.
Harit’s sending-off points towards a troubling disciplinary record for Marseille. The midfielder is the fourth Les Phocéen player to be sent off this season, which leaves Marseille with the highest red card total in Ligue 1 (albeit they have one of the lowest yellow card totals in the league).
Harit will be suspended for Sunday’s upcoming fixture against 12th-placed FC Nantes.
