Spaniard missed Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth round win over Hull
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has provided an update on Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella was not in the squad for Chelsea’s 4-0 win at Hull City in the FA Cup on Friday night due to a hamstring injury he suffered in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Leeds.
The Spaniard started that match at Stamford Bridge but was substituted at half-time after complaining about pain in his thigh.
Jorrel Hato came on for Cucurella against Leeds and played the full match against Hull, with Chelsea winning 4-0 thanks to a goal by Estevao and a first career hat-trick from Pedro Neto.
When he spoke after the Leeds game, Rosenior had said of Cucurella: “Unfortunately at half-time he felt his hamstring. It wasn’t a tactical change — it was one that was enforced.
“Cucu is one who has been top, and hopefully he will be okay. We will scan him and make sure we find out if he is available for the next game.”
Rosenior was then asked for an update after the Hull match.
“At the moment he’s not fit,” the Chelsea head coach said. “There is an issue with his hamstring.
“I don’t know — I can’t give you a time frame on that at the moment.”
