Coritiba host Corinthians at Couto Pereira at 19:30 on Sunday in the 24th round, with sixth place potentially on the line.

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians arrive buoyed after reaching the Libertadores quarter-finals on Thursday against Rosario Central, playing almost 40 minutes with a man fewer. Coritiba seek to shake off post-World Cup instability and, as 2025 Série B champions, now focus solely on the league.

They are 10th on 31 points. A win would take them above Corinthians and could also move them ahead of Red Bull Bragantino on 32, Atlético Mineiro on 33 and Bahia on 34 if those teams falter. Before the pause they were sixth, level with Red Bull Bragantino, and chasing 2027 Libertadores qualification.

Early-season away scalps included Cruzeiro, Corinthians and Santos. Since the restart they have played five games, with one win over bottom side Chapecoense, two draws and two defeats. Their last match finished 1-1 at São Paulo.

Despite the fourth best away record, their home form has struggled. They are fourth worst at Couto Pereira, ahead only of Remo, Internacional and Chapecoense, with four wins, three draws and four defeats in 11, two of those against relegation zone teams.

They also suffered two home cup exits, to Operário on penalties in the Paranaense semi-final and to Santos 2-0 in the Copa do Brasil fifth round. Coritiba have not beaten Corinthians at Couto Pereira since 4 September 2011, a 1-0 win.

Fernando Seabra is without Lucas Ronier, Pedro Rangel, Tinga and Brian Ocampo. Midfielder Josué, who is Portuguese, is expected to return after a muscle issue, with a likely line-up of Pedro Morisco in goal, JP Chermont, Tiago Cóser, Jacy and Bruno Melo in defence, Thiago Santos and Sebastián Gómez with Josué or Fernando Sobral in midfield, Lavega, Breno Lopes and Pedro Rocha in attack.
