Ligue 1+, the LFP’s channel that now carries 100% of Ligue 1 matches, begins its second season on Friday with OM v Strasbourg at 20:45. It aims to retain subscribers and attract new ones.

According to L'Équipe, the platform is strengthening its editorial operation, with a clear push for immersion inside stadiums and clubs. Guillaume Hoarau, Clément Grenier, Marina Lorenzo and Thibault Le Rol are among the leading faces this season.

The biggest unknown is whether it can lift its subscriber base well beyond the first season’s average of 1.1 million. Doing so would help clubs operate with fewer constraints.

Olivier Bramly, who has succeeded Nicolas de Tavernost as chief executive of LFP Media, set out an upbeat vision on Wednesday. At a press conference he said he believes Ligue 1 has considerable growth potential, and that he wants Ligue 1+ to become the go-to platform for French football.

With every match and a more ambitious editorial plan, the channel enters year two seeking momentum. The opening night in Marseille will begin to show whether that strategy resonates.
