Sochaux mark their Ligue 2 return with a home fixture against Saint-Étienne at Bonal on eight August. Nantes start by hosting Red Star, last season’s surprise fourth.

According to L'Équipe, the opening round also features Metz v Guingamp and Dijon away to Montpellier, plus Boulogne-sur-Mer v Nancy, Clermont v Reims, Dunkerque v Grenoble, Pau v Annecy and Rodez v Laval. Kick-off times are to be confirmed.

Sochaux are back after three years in National. Nantes are another fallen giant in the second tier, while newly promoted Dijon step up to Ligue 2.

The standout meetings between Saint-Étienne and Nantes are set for 23 October at Geoffroy-Guichard, then 12 March for the return.

The Lorraine derby Metz-Nance returns for the first time since 2019, scheduled for two January at Saint-Symphorien and 22 May at Marcel-Picot, on the final day.
