Ligue 3 began on Friday with a trial allowing teams to request video checks in limited situations, and the early run has stirred debate and highlighted a need for adjustments.
According to L'Équipe, the rebranded Ligue 3, previously National, is now a professional competition and has introduced a lighter take on VAR.
Under the Football vidéo support, or FVS, each coach may request up to two reviews per match. It applies only in specified cases and is triggered by the coach.
Friday’s multiplex produced numerous incidents, and the outcomes did not please every coach.
Acceptance of this approach remains uncertain as the competition beds in and further adjustments are needed.
