Nathan Ngoy’s stoppage-time finish gave Lille a 1-0 win over Nantes, with Johann Lepenant struggling in midfield.

According to L'Équipe, captain Benjamin André set the tone. He won 14 duels and forced the first Lille openings with headers on 15 and 19 minutes.

Nantes first threatened when Lepenant pressed Mukau to tee up Ganago on 7 minutes. Nicolas Cozza read danger on the left of the back three, beating Félix Correia in the air on 32 minutes then stepping in ahead of Santos on 40.

Chancel Mbemba dominated the box with 10 clearances, and one recovery led to a Matias Fernandez-Pardo chance on 34 minutes. Hakon Haraldsson drifted through the first half, waking only to slip Fernandez-Pardo in on 54, before going off to whistles for Soriba Diaoune on 74.

Félix Correia’s toil brought little incision beyond a deep cross for André on 19 minutes, and he made way for Noah Edjouma on 63. Youssef El-Arabi battled, completing only 50% of his passes, before Matthis Abline replaced him on 63. Fabien Centonze was robust on Nantes’ right, winning 10 of 15 duels.

André then flashed a cut-back towards Mukau on 68 and was booked for dissent on 76. After one late scare, Ngoy settled it on 90+4 minutes, turning in after Meunier’s knockdown from a corner.
