Jesse Lingard is pushing to re-establish himself at Corinthians in the final 10 games, and he may be entering his last months at the club.
According to Meu Timao, the 33-year-old featured in 12 of the club's 16 matches in the second half but started only twice, both in the Brasileirão, a 0-0 draw with Athletico Paranaense in July and a 2-1 defeat to Flamengo in September.
Across outings against Rosario Central, Coritiba and Estudiantes, his total time on the pitch did not reach 15 minutes. He was an unused substitute in two other matches in that spell, against Bahia and Estudiantes.
He missed further games against Rosario Central and Santos due to a left ankle sprain and a viral illness respectively. During the World Cup pause he also grieved the death of his grandfather.
That contrasts with his opening months at Parque São Jorge, when, first under Dorival Júnior then Fernando Diniz, he started nine of 17 matches. He has scored two goals, most recently against Peñarol on 30 April in the Libertadores, and his latest contribution was an assist for Rodrigo Garro in the 17 May loss to Botafogo.
Signed after a stint with Seoul FC in South Korea, Lingard agreed a deal to the end of 2026, with an automatic extension to 2027 if agreed targets are met. He is in contention again for Diniz on Wednesday 7, away to Internacional at 19:30 at Beira-Rio in Brasileirão round 29.
