But while the first team is undergoing chances, Liverpool's academy is also going through a period of overhaul. The club's academy sides performed poorly last season, and Liverpool are keen to ensure there is a continued pathway from the academy into the first team.

As a result Rob Page, who has done a great job at integrating young talent like Brennan Johnson, Ethan Ampadu and Neco Williams into Wales' senior national team, has been appointed as the club's new U21 manager.

Simon Wiles, who has experience working at Salford City as an assistant manager, is expected to become Liverpool's U18 coach, joining from arch rivals Manchester United.

Wiles and Page will be tasked with developing the next batch of young talent at U21 and U18 level, which looks promising at the moment.

On Friday morning, the club's new intake of players taking on scholarship deals was confirmed. Several of the Reds' young teenage sensations took to their social media accounts to confirm that they have signed their first scholarship deal at the club.

Among them was La'More Forrester, who has already played for the club's U19 and U18 side despite being an U16 player last season. He confirmed on his Instagram story that he had signed a new deal with the club.

He was not alone, AJ Yeguo, also confirmed on his Instagram story that he had signed a new deal, posting a picture alongside first team head-coach Arne Slot.

The Dutchman was present at the special moment when the youngsters signed their new deal in what is a nice touch from the Reds' first team boss.

In total, 10 Liverpool youngsters confirmed that they had signed new deals at the club. They include:

Harry Moran, Cameron Williams, Harvey Owen, Lucas Clarke, Lenix Conde, Ellis Hickman, Haydn Murray-Holme, AJ Yeguo, Finn Inglethorpe and La’more Forrester

Who are the notable players to keep an eye on from Liverpool's 'new' youngsters?

The player with the most hype and experience at U18 level from the latest youngsters to sign a new deal is Harvey Owen. He arrived as a 14-year-old from Wolverhampton and is meant to be very highly rated.

The 16-year-old played eight times for the club's U18 side last season and even netted on one occasion. A centre-back who is very tall and composed on the ball, Owen makes around 10 recoveries per 90 minutes and won 61% of his 7.5 defensive duels per 90 minutes last season.

He's still got areas of his game he needs to improve on physically, but his reading of the game, speed and ball-playing ability make him probably the brightest talent of the bunch.

It's important to highlight Cameron Williams as well. A left-back, with great technical qualities, Williams has played 11 times for the club's U18 team already.

In those games Williams scored one and assisted a goal against Stoke City in what was his best performance for the side.

A regular for Scotland at youth level, last season Williams even trained with Scotland's senior national team alongside Andy Robertson. He's clearly the example Williams will be hoping to follow.

Elsewhere, it's difficult to look past Lenix Conde. He's probably the best right-back talent produced by the academy since Trent Alexander-Arnold.

A very different player to Alexander-Arnold, Conde thrives in one vs one situations both defensively and offensively. He's excellent going forward and he's quick and direct, which makes him a fun player to watch.

Conde missed a lot of last season due to injuries but came back for the U16s towards the end of the campaign and he came back strong, scoring in a couple of matches. For the U18s, he's definitely a player to keep a close eye on.

It's worth mentioning another defender in Lucas Clarke who made his U18 debut last season as well, and who the Reds signed from Manchester City.

AJ Yeguo is an interesting one to keep an eye on, too. He's a Polish youth international and he became the seventh youngest player to debut at U18 level for Liverpool last season at 15 years, six months and two days old.

He's debuted at a younger age than Jayden Danns (15 years, 7 months), Curtis Jones (15 years, 10 months) and Alexander-Arnold (15 years, 9 months) just to name a few of the club's most notable academy graduates in recent years.

Yeguo is a dynamic midfielder who can play in a number of different positions and can play even further up the pitch if needed to. He's represented by Alexander-Arnold's agency.

Forward Finn Inglethorpe is worth a mention as well. He is the son of the club's academy director Alex Inglethorpe and has been at the club for close to ten years.

Meanwhile, the aforementioned Forrester is another exciting talent who can play anywhere across the front three, and who has also suffered from some injuries recently but he looked sharp when he made his U18 debut in the 2023/24 campaign. His speed and directness makes him a real weapon on the flanks, and he can play centrally, too.

In general, this is an exciting generation. Although, even more exciting is the generation below with Joshua Abe, Erik Farkas, Vincent Joseph and Shadrach Ekiugbo. As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively Abe and Farkas have already been called-up to the U18 team for pre-season. Ekiugbo and Joseph are both worth keeping an eye on. The latter is an England U15 international, meanwhile the former plays for Germany at U15 level.
