Liverpool could complete £42.8m midfielder transfer after Thursday report

Liverpool are reportedly still searching the market for a midfielder signing in the summer transfer window.

A reputable source on X (formerly Twitter) shared the update in question, with the Reds understood to be keen admirers of Monaco star Lamine Camara.

There’s an argument to be made that landing a new midfield option this summer is just as critical as reinforcing the forward line.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch formed part of the title-winning midfield of 2024/25, but the pair’s attacking instincts mean that Liverpool look exposed in the middle of the park – as was demonstrated in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle at the weekend.

So, we can understand why there might still be the possibility of the Reds bolstering the midfield this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether we can find an appropriate solution here without leaving the forward line short.

What’s exciting about the 22-year-old, however, is that he’s equally proficient on the ball as he is against it.

It’s an option worth considering, at the very least. But with recent reporting indicating that Liverpool will complete a maximum of two further signings this summer, it’s perhaps best advised to leave Andoni Iraola with a complete array of forward options.
