Liverpool is giving Juventus a helping hand in summer move for Alisson | OneFootball

Alisson Becker was Juventus’ first-choice goalkeeper target this summer, with the Brazilian entering the final year of his contract and the Bianconeri believing he could change clubs.

Liverpool triggered an extra year in his deal, and the goalkeeper was contacted by Juventus, who believed they could convince him to make the move. They succeeded in persuading him to consider the transfer, but Liverpool refused to allow him to leave because they did not believe they had the position adequately covered.

Alisson remains Liverpool’s first choice

Alisson never asked Liverpool to leave and remains their first-choice goalkeeper. However, his long-term future at the Premier League club is becoming a question, which could be good news for Juventus.

The Bianconeri remain open to signing him and could benefit from doing so if he becomes a free agent. That possibility has increased because Liverpool are yet to open talks over a new contract.

Juventus could revisit their interest

As reported by Team Talk, Liverpool have not yet opened negotiations over a new deal for Alisson. At the moment, the Reds reportedly do not have the appetite to begin those discussions, meaning the goalkeeper could leave the club as a free agent when this season ends.

That would be exactly what Juventus want, as they would be able to pursue Alisson without having to agree a transfer fee with Liverpool. The Bianconeri have already shown their interest, and the possibility of signing him for free could encourage them to return for the goalkeeper.

However, Juventus cannot assume that Alisson will choose them if he becomes available. The Brazilian remains a highly regarded goalkeeper, and other clubs are likely to show interest in his signature if he reaches the end of his contract.

For now, Alisson remains a Liverpool player and their first choice in goal. Juventus will therefore have to monitor the situation closely and wait to see whether the Premier League club eventually decides to negotiate a new contract.

If Liverpool do not change their position, Alisson could become one of the most notable free agents available, giving Juventus another opportunity to pursue a goalkeeper they already tried to sign.
