According to Sky Germany, Liverpool are “pushing” to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande before the summer World Cup, with the 19-year-old due to represent Ivory Coast.

Liverpool have tracked Diomande for some time and now appear to be stepping up their interest.

Leipzig are keen to keep him for at least another season and are ready to offer improved terms.

The Bundesliga club could be tempted to sell only if an extraordinary bid exceeding €100 million arrives.

Asked recently about mounting attention, Diomande said links to clubs such as Chelsea or Real Madrid would make him happy and more motivated, but he tries to focus on the pitch and leaves everything else outside, adding that hearing clubs talk about him gives him motivation.
