Liverpool have announced the signing of Bradley Barcola from PSG for a fee that could reach £123m including add-ons.

Barcola has signed a contract with the Reds until 2031 and becomes the club’s fourth signing of the summer window. A long-running saga had seen Liverpool refuse to meet PSG’s initial £145m asking price, but a compromise on the fee has been found.

Liverpool have paid an initial £106m, though the fee could rise to £123m. Barcola becomes the second-most expensive signing in the club’s history, behind Alexander Isak.

At his unveiling, Barcola said the deal took a ‘long time’ but expressed his excitement at the challenge that awaits in the Premier League.

“It’s a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy,” the 23-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com.

“It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life. It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that’s why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it.”
