Liverpool travel to Brentford for Saturday’s late kick-off, aiming to prove their midweek European demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt was the turning point their season desperately needed.
A run of four consecutive defeats had put manager Arne Slot under significant pressure. Therefore, backing up the 5-1 win is crucial. The Reds must now end their own dismal run in the Premier League, having lost their last three matches – an unprecedented sequence where they conceded winners in the final ten minutes each time. Furthermore, they face a Brentford side they have dominated recently, but Slot must contend with significant new injury doubts to key players.
Arne Slot faces an anxious wait over the fitness of Ryan Gravenberch (ankle) and Alexander Isak (groin), both injured during the midweek win in Frankfurt. Their potential absence compounds existing issues, with Jeremie Frimpong ruled out alongside Alisson Becker and Giovanni Leoni.
Hugo Ekitike is fit and expected to lead the line if Isak is unavailable. Isak does, however, boast a remarkable record against Brentford, having scored in all four of his previous appearances against them – the best 100% scoring rate of any player against a single opponent in the competition. Mo Salah, who started on the bench in Frankfurt, is expected to return to the starting lineup.
Liverpool predicted XI: Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Szoboszlai, Jones; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike
The Premier League fixture will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, 25 October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 pm BST.
The game is an 8pm BST kick-off and will be live on TNT Sports in the UK.
