LOSC have signed centre-back Tanguy Nianzou on a two-year contract with an option for a further season. The club announced the deal on Saturday, marking the 24-year-old’s return to Ligue 1 six years after he left PSG for Bayern Munich.
The Franco-Ivorian defender arrives from Sevilla. A former France Under-21 international, he earned three caps and scored twice.
His time in Andalusia was disrupted by hip and hamstring injuries, and he played only 62 matches across four years.
Nianzou strengthens a Lille central defence that lost Chancel Mbemba and Aïssa Mandi, who both departed as free agents on 30 June.
He is Lille’s third summer signing after 22-year-old Turkish winger Önel Basar from NEC Nijmegen and Swiss full-back Loun Srdanovic from Servette Genève. Basar and Srdanovic made their debuts in Saturday’s first pre-season friendly, a 3-0 win over La Louvière.
