Grêmio face defensive uncertainty for Sunday’s trip to Bragança Paulista, but Marlon and Villasanti are expected to return to the starting side after being rested for the defeat to Atlético-MG.

According to Globo.com, injuries mean Luís Castro will alter his midfield, with Krovinovic likely to take the third spot alongside Noriega and Villasanti after Nardoni suffered a strain in his right knee.

Dodi, who started against the Galo in Villasanti’s place, sustained an avulsion injury to his right kneecap and will miss the coming matches. Wallace’s centre-back partner remains unclear as Gustavo Martins has a muscle oedema in his left thigh.

Wagner Leonardo is the only left-sided centre-back available, with Kannemann suspended after his third yellow card. Youth-team defender Luís Eduardo is an alternative. New signing Danilo Barbosa could be involved, but with no official game since 25 May he is likely to start on the bench.

The likely Grêmio XI to face Bragantino is Weverton, with a back four of Diego Caito, Wallace, Wagner Leonardo or Luís Eduardo, and Marlon. Midfield of Noriega, Villanti and Krovinovic, and a front three of Pavon or Tetê, Carlos Vinicius and Amuzu.

The squad will train on Saturday morning at CT Luiz Carvalho, then travel in the afternoon. The 24th-round fixture against Massa Bruta is at 16:00 on Sunday at Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques.
