FLW's Hatters Fan Pundit believes Jack Wilshere would "love" working with Bailey Cadamarteri
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
Luton Town have been backed to seal a deal for Sheffield Wednesday’s highly-rated young striker Bailey Cadamarteri.
This comes after The Star revealed that the Hatters have the Jamaican international on their radar, alongside eight other EFL sides.
So far this January window, Luton have only brought in Manchester City winger Emilio Lawrence on loan, while there have been a couple of strikers exiting the club.
Lasse Nordas has gone out on loan to SC Heerenveen, whereas Joe Gbode has made his own temporary departure to Woking - so there is definitely room for Jack Wilshere to add more firepower to his squad before the February 2nd deadline.
FLW spoke with our Luton Town Fan Pundit, Simon Mills, who shared his thoughts on the report name-dropping the Bedfordshire club with interest in Cadamarteri.

Mills was clear that this is the sort of attacking addition he wants to see the club push to complete, telling FLW, "I think that that would be a good signing, to bring him into the club. I think that’s a player who Jack Wilshere would love to work with and try to mould."
Yes, Cadamarteri now has experience of regular Championship football with the Owls, but he also enjoyed a productive loan at Lincoln City in 24/25 - where he scored eight goals across all competitions for the Imps.
So far this season, the 20-year-old has only managed two Championship goals in 27 league games, with his last strike coming against Hull City on Boxing Day.
The Fan Pundit then mentioned the way Luton tend to operate late in the window and stressed his belief that attacking reinforcements will arrive to balance the aforementioned recent exits.
Mills said, "We’re seeing quite a few exits go out the Luton Town door at the moment, so you just have to assume players like this are gonna come into the club towards the end of the window here - because we love to leave it late."
After all, it was on deadline day last year when Town secured the signing of the recently departed Nordas.

There’s no denying that this season has been a stuttering campaign in front of goal for the Hatters’ forwards - particularly Nahki Wells - which is why Mills wants a deal done for a goalscorer quickly.
Even though a recent equaliser against Lincoln has offered signs that he is starting to turn the corner, Nahki Wells has only scored two in League One. The 35-year-old hasn't exactly had the desired impact since joining in the summer, and spoke with The Luton Today to reveal how he'd been feeling "rock bottom" at points this season.
Mills said, "I do like Lawrence from Man City, I think that he’s got some potential about him as well, but we simply need somebody at the club who is going to score.
"You can’t rely on Kodua every game, you can’t rely on Jordan Clark every game, and although I think Nahki Wells has done fine in his contributions, he’s just simply not putting the ball in the net."
Gideon Kodua and Jordan Clark are Luton's top goalscorers in the league this season, with nine and seven respectively, yet pointing out the obvious to add to what Mills mentioned - they're not strikers.
Mills concluded with his verdict by claiming, "So, we have to do something, and this could be the answer."
Ultimately, there would be competition for Cadamarteri and a fee to negotiate, but that is the market the Hatters have to operate in if they want to sort their striker situation out.
Perhaps the majority of Town fans, alongside Mills, will surely be hoping that Wilshere has the pull required to fend off the other interested teams and bring the youngster to Luton.
