Olympique Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille are reportedly vying to secure the services of Nabil Bentaleb (31), according to Foot Mercato.
With his contract at LOSC Lille set to expire next June, the Algerian international (57 caps, six goals) is likely to have a number of options available to him. Having already received an offer of a renewal from Les Dogues‘ management, Bentaleb could decide to extend his stay in northern France, where he would play in the Champions League.
But the prospect of discovering a new league might also appeal to him, with clubs from the Premier League, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar reportedly keeping a close eye on his situation. Obviously, this would not be in the interests of either Lyon or Marseille, who see the Wazemmes-born player as a prime opportunity to strengthen their squads at a lower cost.
A key part of Bruno Genesio’s system, Bentaleb has had a full season, featuring in 37 matches across all competitions (22 starts) and proving decisive on four occasions, with two goals and two assists.
