Lyon and RB Salzburg are reported to have reached an agreement for the transfer of Mads Bidstrup (25), according to a report from Florian Plettenberg.

The Danish midfielder had already agreed personal terms with Lyon for a five-year contract until June 2031, with only the final paperwork and medical to be completed.

Plettenberg first reported Lyon’s interest in Bidstrup on 7 June. Valued at €13m by Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old featured 36 times for the Austrian club in 2025/26.

Bidstrup, who has UEFA Champions League experience, would become the latest player to leave Salzburg – who are undergoing somewhat of a rebuild after again missing out on the league title – this summer after Joane Gadou (Borussia Dortmund, €19.5m), Jannik Schuster (Brentford, €18m), Kerim Alajbegovic (Bayer Leverkusen, €8m) and Bobby Clark (Derby, €8m).

As reported via our colleagues at Get French Football News, Lyon reached an agreement worth €10m with Salzburg for Bidstrup.
