Youssouf Fofana is on his way out of Milan and the latest reports on Monday morning indicate that Ligue 1 side Lyon are on the verge of sealing an agreement with the Rossoneri for his transfer.

Lyon attempting to secure Fofana deal with Milan

Fofana is not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans and has been told to find a new club before the close of the Serie A transfer window on September 1.

Reports over the weekend claimed that Galatasaray, who have just signed star attacker Rafael Leao from Milan, were pushing to bring the Frenchman to Istanbul as well, but updates from transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio on Monday confirm that Lyon are also in the mix and that they are hoping to close an agreement in the near future.

It is believed that the two clubs are discussing an initial loan deal with either an option or an obligation to buy.

Fofana has made 88 appearances across all competitions for Milan since joining from Monaco at a cost of €25m including bonuses two summers ago.
