According to a report from L’Équipe, Lyon are set to sign Adam Karabec (22) on loan with an option to buy from Sparta Prague. The 22-year-old is viewed as a versatile backup by OL as they look to add depth to their attacking options.
Karabec is able to play as both an attacking midfielder and on the right flank. The attacking midfielder will add versatility and squad depth to Fonseca’s squad as he arrives on a temporary transfer. If the Czech U21 international impresses during his time at the Groupama Stadium, Les Gones will have the opportunity to make the transfer permanent with an option to buy inserted in the loan deal.
Lyon will have to pay the Czech champions €3.5m should they wish to sign Karabec on a permanent basis. The attacking midfielder was expected to make a return to his former club Hamburg this summer. However, when the opportunity to Lyon came, the Sparta Prague academy graduate opted to move to Ligue 1 instead with the opportunity to participate in European football.
