Lyon ‘to start’ Lois Openda at Fenerbahçe, Mads Bidstrup on bench | OneFootball

Olympique Lyonnais travel to Fenerbahçe for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier, and, according to L’Équipe, Lois Openda will start with Mads Bidstrup set to be on the bench.

Head coach Paulo Fonseca is without Khalis Merah and, more significantly, Pavel Sulc, who also sat out the aggregate win over Slavia Prague earlier this month.

Nicolas Tagliafico is not yet up to speed following his World Cup duties with Argentina, so Abner is expected to fill in at left-back this evening.

Tanner Tessmann is expected to start, while Tyler Morton will start again in midfield. Malick Fofana, despite links to a departure, is understood to be starting on the left, with Ernest Nuamah on the right.

Lyon’s likely XI at Fenerbahçe is Dominik Greif in goal, a defence of Abner, Moussa Niakhaté, Ruben Kluivert and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, a midfield of Corentin Tolisso, Tyler Morton and Tanner Tessmann, and a front three of Malick Fofana, Lois Openda and Ernest Nuamah.
