Maïssa Fathallah, 17, has signed a one-year extension with OL Lyonnes. According to Le Progres, her previous deal ran to 2028.
It comes a year after she penned her first professional contract at 16, leaving Lyon with her secured for three more years.
Capable of playing at centre-back or as a holding midfielder, she made her senior bow in September in a 3-1 win over Marseille in Première Ligue.
Aged 16 years and 301 days, she started the 4-0 victory over OM in the Coupe de France quarter-finals earlier this year.
Head coach Jonatan Giráldez used her five times in all competitions last season and has predicted an incredible future for her.
She won the French title with the seniors and with the U19s, and added the Coupe de France in Valenciennes against PSG, 4-1.
She also featured for the Lyonnes’ reserves in D3. Born in Vitry-sur-Seine, the France youth international has 24 caps, 21 starts and 2 goals, and is noted for her technical and tactical poise and ball striking.
The extension follows the signings of Romane Rafalski and Ambre Ouazar, underlining OL Lyonnes’ intent to back academy graduates in line with the club’s ambitions.
