Wendie Renard, Caroline Weir and Tabitha Chawinga remain short for Lyon’s game against Paris FC on Saturday at 13:30, their situations improving but the window too tight, according to Le Progres.

Renard is not yet ready to return. Limited to around 30 minutes in pre-season, she has nothing serious, said Jonatan Giráldez, who could include her, perhaps next week, for the trip to Le Havre.

Weir, who hit a brace in the final warm-up against London City Lionesses, a 4-0 win, will not make her league debut yet. She trained individually on Friday and her comeback appears close.

Chawinga’s condition is also improving. The Malawi international joined pre-season late after AFCON, had no summer break and ended last season with muscle issues, so the coach insists she must be fully prepared before helping the team.

Recently extended to 2029, Elma Nelhage also misses out. The squad: Endler, Grohs (g), Lawrence, Tarciane, Engen, Sangaré, Bacha, Fathallah, Egurrola, Shrader, Swierot, Benyahia, Yohannes, Dumornay, Ouazar, Becho, Paralluelo, Brand, Hegerberg, Katoto.

Unavailable: Renard, Weir, Chawinga, Waksman, Micah, returning, Nelhage, Kaneryd, injured, Rafalski, U20 World Cup, Belhadj, Joseph, coach’s decision, Bekhaled, pending departure.
