RCD Mallorca and Espanyol have handed new deals to their managers after fraught campaigns, while Jose Bordalas weighs his next move.

Diario AS reports that this week will be decisive for Bordalas, who is out of contract at Getafe and was expected to leave, with a decision due on Monday. Espanyol will not offer him their job, and a possible route to Sevilla could be complicated after Sergio Ramos’ takeover talks broke down. He could yet renew with Getafe, whom he led into the Conference League this season.

Mallorca have confirmed Martin Demichelis has signed until 2028. His side were relegated on the final weekend after a late slump, losing to Levante, Alaves and Getafe in the last four games. Demichelis had stated during the season that he wanted to remain even if they went down.

Espanyol have also extended Manolo Gonzalez to 2027. A 19-game winless run in 2026 left him under severe pressure, but two wins from their final three matches kept them up. With Monchi arriving as General Sporting Director, there had been talk of change, yet Gonzalez retained strong backing from players and fans.

Elsewhere, Inigo Perez will leave Rayo Vallecano at the end of his contract this summer. Eder Sarabia has resigned from Elche despite keeping them up. Michel Sanchez is expected to take over at Ajax after leaving relegated Girona, having failed to beat Elche on the final day.
