According to Superdeporte, Fenerbahçe have come to Spain with a sizeable offer to sign Vedat Muriqi, a move that threatens Mallorca’s plans in a relegation battle and has unsettled Son Moix. The bid is said to be 12 million.

The worry is not just the money. Muriqi is the team’s attacking focal point. He has 14 goals in 20 league matches, second in LaLiga behind Mbappé, and accounts for more than half of Mallorca’s total this season.

There is an emotional pull too. Muriqi previously played for Fenerbahçe, scoring 17 in 36, which has fuelled noise around a potential return to Istanbul in Türkiye.

The forward has indicated he is happy on the island, but accepts the club will decide. If a sale helps financially with the aim of staying up, he would not stand in the way.

This campaign is his best start since arriving in Palma, underlining how difficult he would be to replace in January.

Across his Mallorca spell he has 48 league goals, second in the club’s top-flight history behind Samuel Eto’o on 54. In his second season he hit 15, a mark he could surpass if he maintains this pace.
