Mamady Diambou joins Brest from RB Salzburg on two-year deal | OneFootball

Stade Brestois have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Mamady Diambou, 23, from RB Salzburg on a two-year contract with an option for a further year.

According to L'Équipe, the fee was not disclosed. The Mali international, capped twice, operates as a defensive midfielder and is noted for his work rate.

He becomes Brest's latest midfield addition after Belgian midfielder Joseph Nonge, while defender Gauthier Loris arrived on 12 August to strengthen the back line.

Diambou has European experience, featuring in the Europa League last season and the Champions League two years ago. He also faced SB29 in Salzburg's 0-4 home defeat.

He departs Salzburg five years after joining, having made 80 appearances for the Austrian club.
