Amad Diallo believes Manchester United ‘need’ Marcus Rashford in the squad before 2026/2027 gets underway next weekend.
Speaking after United’s 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, Amad told MUTV: “Now we need [Matheus] Cunha, Rashford, Licha (Lisandro Martinez) and Kobbie Mainoo, who are going to join us in Dublin.”
Luckily for the Ivorian, Rashford did make his return to Carrington on Sunday before a private jet was arranged to fly him and other members of the team out to Ireland to link up with their teammates.

It’s unlikely he will feature in Wednesday’s pre-season clash with Leeds United, so his first minutes for the club since December 2024 are poised to come against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan on Saturday.
Meanwhile, it was revealed yesterday by Fabrizio Romano that the 28-year-old would be donning the No.14 shirt when he is officially reintegrated into the first-team.
Cunha took Rashford’s No.10 jersey following his switch to Barcelona last summer, and it wouldn’t be entirely fair to request it back.
It’s thought there is still a chance that the Carrington graduate departs before next month’s deadline, although that is entirely dependent on a suitable offer coming in that he approves of.
Rashford has garnered interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, for example, but he is uninterested in making such moves at this stage of his career.
His £40 million release clause expired in July, meaning suitors would need to approach United to negotiate new terms if an agreement were to be reached.
The England international, who made six appearances and scored once for the Three Lions at the World Cup this summer, is tied to Old Trafford until June 2028.
