Officials at Manchester City have now found out when they can expect to find out a firm decision or outcome from the side of Saudi Pro League suitors concerning Ederson.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has been at the very centre of attention from the Middle-East when it comes to their pursuits of a new big-money superstar signing from European football this summer.

In return, there has been a belief in various quarters that Ederson himself has been open to the idea of a new challenge away from Manchester City, having won everything there is to win with the reigning Premier League champions.

However, with Manchester City retaining a favourable contract situation involving the first-team mainstay goalkeeper, there is no rush to sell the player despite being content with Stefan Ortega being a potential new number one.

With that being said, officials at the Etihad Stadium are happy to work with Ederson on coming to an agreement with a potential new club, should the player himself formally reveal a clear desire to leave Manchester City.

And that desire or intensified pursuit of the shot-stopper could now come within a matter of days, as a new report details just how soon Middle-Eastern suitors could be looking to finalise an agreement for the former SL Benfica man.

According to the information of TEAMtalk’s Rudi Galetti, Al-Nassr are now looking to finalise the signing of a new goalkeeper ‘within a week’, as both Liverpool’s Alisson and Manchester City’s Ederson remain at the top of their radar.

However, the report claims that the ‘double negotiation’ is ‘strategic’ as the club try to ‘drive down’ Manchester City’s €50 million valuation of their number one choice between the sticks in the coming days and weeks.

And that strategy may work, with the report suggesting that Manchester City are now ‘willing’ to accept €40 million for Ederson in a fee that is still considered ‘too high’ by Al-Nassr, who do not want to pay more than €30 million this summer.

At present, it remains unknown as to what strategy Manchester City would employ in the remainder of the summer transfer window, should Ederson finalise an exit to the Saudi Pro League in the coming days and weeks ahead.

Pep Guardiola is understood to have full faith and confidence in Stefan Ortega’s abilities as a number one choice, and would be comfortable with starting the season with the German between the posts.

That would still leave Manchester City with the task of sourcing a new back-up to the 31-year-old, with only Scott Carson remaining – following a recent contract extension – in the event of Ederson leaving the club for Al-Nassr in the Middle-East.
