In a recent segment with The United Stand, journalist Ben Jacobs claimed that Manchester United are still keen on signing for Leicester City midfielder Louis Page. Jacobs said,

“My information is kind of that Man Utd were comfortable signing him and either pre-agreeing or loaning straight back to Leicester.

“So we weren’t to read too much into him playing against Plymouth, but there was a gulf in valuation.

“They could well continue these negotiations in the next few days with still a view to a pre-agreement.

“Louis Page to Man Utd is not dead, and even if they pre-agree it outside of the window, it won’t change that much because I suspect he was always going to stay at Leicester this season anyway.”

Page’s Impressive Form In League One This Season

Page has made a solid start to this League One campaign for Leicester as he managed to put in a few impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 18-year-old has picked up one assist in five appearances for the Foxes this season across all fronts.

The English talent is currently among the most gifted central midfielders in League One. Hence, Man United would do well to lure him to Old Trafford next year.

His current contract at the Midlands club will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Red Devils to land him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.

Page is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind working hard for his team defensively and has the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates in the final third.

The English talent can even shoot the ball with power from long range. Page is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required.

We can expect Page to bring more quality and depth to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s midfield in the long run. He has what it takes to challenge for regular first-team football at Old Trafford in the future.

At 18, Page has the potential to be a world-class player in the Premier League someday. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the long term, so Man United would be wise to snap him up next year.
