The experienced midfielder was substituted midway through the second half against Tottenham
Casemiro started Man Utd’s final Premier League fixture before the international break as he partnered club captain Bruno Fernandes in the middle of the park.
While the 33-year-old was not able to find the net for a third game in a row, he delivered an assured performance as the visitors took the lead through Bryan Mbeumo’s first half header.
Without the Brazilian on the pitch, Man United would go on to concede twice before Matthijs de Ligt equalised in the 96th minute with a towering header to resuce a point and stretch their unbeaten run to five games.
Speaking afterwards, Amorim explained why Casemiro was substituted at the same time as Harry Maguire, who was visibly struggling with a hamstring problem.
Amorim said: "When we have to take out Maguire and Casemiro at the same time, then suffer two goals, then losing Ben, you have to overcome everything."
In a boost for the Red Devils, Casemiro’s issue is nothing serious as the club have confirmed he has joined up with the Brazil squad for friendlies against Senegal and Tunisia.
A statement reads: “Although Casemiro was substituted during the Spurs game, with head coach Ruben Amorim suggesting afterwards the midfielder needed to come off, the 33-year-old has linked up with Brazil, for their games in Europe.”
Casemiro is currently the Brazil captain and will therefore be expected to play some part in at least one of the upcoming matches as Carlo Ancelotti takes a closer look at his squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Man United return to Premier League action on November 24 as they aim to get back to winning ways against Everton at Old Trafford.
