Manor Solomon joins West Ham from Tottenham Hotspur | OneFootball

West Ham have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon for a reported fee of £5 million, with £2 million in add-ons.

The 27-year-old makes the move to East London after spending three years at London rivals Spurs, during which he went on loan three times.

Solomon becomes the Hammers’ third summer signing, following Keiber Lamadrid and Joël Veltman. He takes the No. 10 shirt and signs a three-year contract, with an option for a further year.

After joining Spurs in 2023, the winger only went on to make six appearances for the North London club. However, he impressed on loan at Leeds United in the 2024/25 Championship season, scoring 10 goals and picking up 13 assists.

Solomon spoke on joining the club: “I’m really happy to be here, happy to be a Hammer, and I can’t wait to get started!

“I know West Ham has a rich history both in the Premier League and in Europe. It’s a Club that won a European trophy just three years ago, and I think this is where the Club should be, and I’m here to help the Club to be where it belongs.

“I’ve spoken both with the manager and with Nils. They showed me the project, what they want to build there. Of course, our first task is to get promoted, to go back to the Premier League. I really like all the ideas and everything they have presented for me.

“I’ll try to give my all in the first season and then in the seasons ahead. I want to be here for a long time and I want to make the fans really happy.”

The Athletic reported that talks between the two clubs were put on hold for financial reasons, as West Ham were unwilling to agree to the bonuses Spurs were asking for if the Hammers achieved promotion at the first attempt.

However, reliable football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported after West Ham’s 3-1 win over Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup that the two clubs had struck an agreement of a £5 million fixed fee with £2 million in add-ons.

Solomon addresses an area in much need at West Ham following the departure of Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for £60 million.

With less than a month left in the window, West Ham will be looking to bring more players in, which boss Nuno Espírito Santo commented on after Saturday’s game.

“Everybody is aware we need players, but we are taking our time, not making mistakes. Who comes must improve us. We can afford some time, not too much. I will speak internally, but we are taking time and nailing our decision is crucial for this.

“I’m not going to speak about names. Our first respect for our players, the clubs, but it’s needed, so going to be movements. We don’t have much time, but we cannot afford mistakes. We are working hard to try and bring the right boys.”

West Ham have been linked with several players this window. Their next target is AZ Alkmaar and Ireland international striker Troy Parrott. After reportedly having an initial bid rejected, the club are expected to return with an improved offer.
