Marc Bernal praises Barcelona star after 5-2 win over Rayo | OneFootball

The FC Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal was once again in the list as Hansi Flick named his starting eleven for the game against Rayo Vallecano. With this start, the youngster has now started all the three games played by the Blaugranes so far this season.

As SPORT has reported, the Spaniard also talked to DAZN after the end of the match, which ended 5-2 in the Catalan team’s favor. The midfielder expressed his happiness with the match, and was content in the team despite the competition for midfield spots:

“I’m very happy with the match. This is Barça, the biggest club in the world. The competition is what it is, but that’s good and healthy.”

The Brazilian forward Raphinha scored another two goals in this match to take his La Liga tally to five goals in three games. Bernal also highlighted his role in the dressing room:

“Raphinha is a role model. He helps us young players. What we want is a captain like that, and we have a lot of respect for him.”

Going forward, the youngster was looking forward to continuing with the team’s winning run, and to achieve all the objectives set by the club for this season:

“Keep working, three wins from three, and try to achieve all our objectives.”

Lastly, Bernal also talked highly of Lamine Yamal, who finally got on the scoresheet and scored two goals to his name in the match against Rayo Vallecano:

“Lamine hasn’t been able to score in the last few matches, but throughout his career he has shown the quality he possesses. Today he was able to score, and we’re happy for him.”

With this win over Rayo Vallecano, Barcelona now have a week before they get back on the pitch for the next La Liga match against Valencia. Rodri Hernandez is expected to get into the starting lineup once he gets back to his best level, but hopefully, Marc Bernal will continue to remain important for Hansi Flick as well.
