Corinthians face a cash crunch and two FIFA transfer bans that have frozen recruitment. Executive Marcelo Paz believes the issues could be resolved this window.
"If we are still under a ban, renewals can be registered, new deals cannot. I do not think Corinthians will go through a window under a transfer ban," he told Jogo Aberto.
The first sanction, in place since May over about R$ 7.7 million owed to Philadelphia Union, blocks registrations for three windows. A second, issued on Monday, is a 225,000 dollars disciplinary fine tied to the Union case, the signing of Charles from Midtjylland and the 2025 loan of Talles Magno. Until the debts are cleared, the club cannot register senior or youth players.
"I think the total is around R$ 9 million, with a fine of about 200,000 dollars," he said. The board aim to resolve matters before 20 July to progress loan talks for Arthur Melo and Wesley.
Salary and image-rights delays persist in the men’s and women’s squads, and July academy stipends were late. "We met the captains first, then the group. It is a temporary difficulty, once money comes in we will settle everything," Paz said.
Sales are a priority, with at least two exits sought and Breno Bidon, André Luiz and Yuri Alberto among candidates. "We will have to sell players. There are real enquiries, but no firm offers yet," he added.
